When you see how much time and effort (and often cost) goes into creating one, though, it can quickly drop further and further down your home project list. But, thanks to a simple little home decor hack, you can get the accent wall of your dreams in as little as a few hours!
Peel-and-stick wallpaper is one of the newer DIY home decor trends taking the world by storm. Gone are the days of heavy papers and layers of glue to add a pattern to your walls. Instead, you can effortlessly transform your space as quickly as you can apply a sticker! Wipe Away Popcorn Ceilings
While popcorn ceilings may have been a popular interior design trend of days gone by, they’re now widely considered a sign of age in a home. One look up, and potential homebuyers are adding a decade (or two) to your house with just one glance. Plus, as magnets for dust and cobwebs, they are simply just more work to keep clean. So whether you are planning to sell your home or just looking to update it for yourself, investing some time in getting rid of your popcorn ceilings may be a worthwhile project to consider.
Before removing your popcorn ceilings, you’ll want to first make sure you won’t be uncovering any unsavoury pathogens in the process. Test for lead and asbestos to be safe, and don’t hesitate to throw on a mask just to be safe while you work. And please, for the sake of an easy clean-up, throw down a sheet to catch scrapings as you go!
Once you are safe to start, lightly spray the ceiling with warm water and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes. Then, take a drywall knife gently scrape away to the smooth drywall surface underneath. Once smoothed out, wait a few hours to ensure the ceiling has completely dried before popping on a fresh coat of white paint to seal the deal!
Create Your Own Shaker Doors

Choose any colour your heart desires, from trendy brown hues to easy-breezy neutrals, and let your creativity run free!
Bonus Tip: Don’t feel like painting a whole room (or several)? Try just painting your front door. This simple DIY takes little to no effort and allows you to shine your personality to every passer-by.
